What is with our obsession over birds

i watched the bird move his head side to side, unclean and jerky. a way a mental person moves theirs. i thought that its bones had been put together wrong. that its make-up was faulty. and i began to wonder if humans were faulty like that too. that we too malfunctioned without a definition or a second thoughts.

We were watching the pigeons in Leicester Square yesterday, and despite their homogeneity, it’s always possible to pick out the mankiest pigeon, who’s perhaps lost a leg or an eye, along with most of its feathers; and the most luxuriant pigeon - perhaps white or brown in contrast to the usual grey; perhaps larger with more bouffant feathers, sticking out his chest and cooing to attract a mate. Dimwitted maybe, but what an amazing internal iPod those birds groove to.
